Scriptural Ground

Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. (1 Timothy 6:12 NIV)

Prayer of Approach

You have called me, O God, to be a witness to your eternal reality and supreme power. Strengthen me when that which opposes your work in my life seeks to destroy what you have called me to do for your glory. Cause me to dwell in your presence that my mind may not be yielded to the enemy of the soul. Bring forth what is of you that I may be guided aright as I seek to express the faith that you have given to me in Christ Jesus.

Receive this prayer in Christ’s Name.

Amen.

A Moment With God

The expression of faith involves struggle. At times this can take a toll on the Christian soul. Replenishing faith is therefore an essential Christian activity. Faith arises in the context of that which is eternal and therefore what is merely earthly cannot really prevail finally against it. This is important to remember as the Christian soul grapples with the demands of earthly life while at the same time attempting to allow what is eternal to be made known. The many who surround us in the faith are meant to be present reminders of what the presence of God has already accomplished in the lives of those who have committed themselves to living out His will for them. Look then to Jesus in your hour of struggle. Remember that He has already passed this way and now reigns eternally. Hold on to Him and have hope. He will never fail you nor forsake you.
