Scriptural Ground

I know that when I come to you, I will come in the full measure of the blessing of Christ (Romans 15:29 NIV).

Prayer of Approach

You know the paths that I must take, O God, in fulfilling your will, your purposes and your plans for my life. Order my footsteps day by day and moment by moment that I may walk with you in this life. Draw me nearer to you that I may know your mind and discover your will unveiled to me. Put before me that which provides me with direction concerning your will and empower me by your Spirit to enter into all that you set before me. You are the God who, in every generation, puts before your people the truth concerning the ways of life. Grant me the trust that you want me to have concerning your goodness, your faithfulness, your mercy, and your grace. Lead me by your word of truth that I may not walk in darkness. Grant me the ability to take your presence to others as I interact with them that they may desire to know you more deeply. Through the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, receive this prayer. Amen.

A Moment With God

Our paths are not carelessly arranged by the living God. No, we walk where He wants us to walk according to the choices that we make and in agreement with those who share life with us. At His appointed time His purposes are fulfilled in a manner that glorifies His Name. Through our commitment to follow where He leads we become channels of His activity for good, not only in our own lives but also in the lives of those whom we encounter with His divine permission. There is always the opportunity to discern His presence at work for good in these occurrences. What message is God trying to communicate to me through this encounter? How am I to proceed with the knowledge that I now have? In what way have I represented the presence of Christ as I have shared with others? Has the faith that I have in the working of God been strengthened through this experience? The answers to such questions have the capacity to deepen our awareness of the presence of God abiding with us.
