Scriptural Ground

God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect (Hebrews 11:40 NIV).

Prayer of Approach

In your planning, O God, you do not forget those whom you intend to bless. It is your will to preserve the way of righteousness for the faithful to walk in it. Remember, O God, those whom you intend to bless through my life and keep me in your way of faith in Christ Jesus the Lord. Open my eyes to behold your glory. Fill my heart with a sincere love for your Word that it may always be the foundation upon which I build my life. Draw near to me each day as I search the Scriptures and illumine my mind with your truth that I may be set free from darkness. Raise up in me a true desire to live in your way of righteousness. Grant that I may be open to your work in my life and accomplish the things that you purpose for me to do. Act through me to bring others before your throne. Remember those who need your help to resolve difficulties, to plan effectively, to inspire others, to acknowledge your truth, chose your path. Release your supplies to meet their needs that we all may move nearer to what you intend for our life with you. Through the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, hear this prayer. Amen.

A Moment With God

In building a community of the faithful that spans generations there is much to be considered. In each generation the effort must be made afresh to unveil the mysteries of God. As time has unfolded there has also been an unfolding of what God has intended to bring to pass. We need to take advantage of the opportunity that has been given in this generation to become acquainted with the truths that are presented through the pages of Holy Scripture that we may take our places among the faithful. In deepening our understanding of what God requires of us as we read of the experiences of His people in the Biblical materials we are in fact preparing ourselves to live in such ways that build up the community. Let us then study the Scriptures to ensure that our lives are embracing what is available to us in Christ and that we are entering into what God has provided for us.
