Scriptural Ground

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16 NIV).

Prayer of Approach

You know, O God, the need that I have for your truth. It is your truth that sustains me to bring forth praise that honours you. Separate my mind from what produces confusion, anger and pain. Place your path to life before me and strengthen me to walk in it that I may be free to serve you aright that your Name may be glorified. Turn my thoughts to you through encounter with your Word and grant me all that is necessary for growth and development according to your will.

Through the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, receive this prayer.

Amen.

A Moment With God

Anchored in the Word of God we are able to withstand the fiercest of storms that threaten to destroy what has been built up in our lives for God’s purposes. We must therefore seek Him out where He may be found, that is, where His works have been recorded in the pages of Holy Scripture to be ushered into His presence. Confronted by what has been written for our instruction we will be taught concerning the things of God, rebuked for our straying away from the paths determined for our lives, corrected when we consider the lives of others shaped by His hand, and trained to think afresh of the choices we desire to make in serving Him. Set aside sufficient time for exposure to the Word. Ponder what is encountered in it. Receive its truth. Stabilize your life.
